If you didn't come to party, don't bother knockin' at the door

Claire Cain Miller of the New York Times recently wrote about the seeming immunity Silicon Valley has to the recent gyrations on Wall Street.

Silicon Valley is the land of the eternal optimist…and sometimes believing works really, really well. The twenty- and thirty-somethings in and around San Francisco with big ideas and a little bit of money…sometimes $100,000 is enough to launch a company…are creating the next wave of technological cool.

And while there are a few naysayers looking for clouds, the biggest sense in the valley is that there are some real game-changing plays that will emerge from the pack. If you have access and bet right, you could be a part of that next great ride.
