So many candidates tell me that they want to take ‘the holidays’ off and look for a new role after the first of the year.  I’d love to take Thanksgiving week through the first week of January off myself, I understand how compelling that seems.

However, this is often a very good time to step up your job search.

This week, several new clients ‘pinged’ us about searches they need assistance on.  My theory is that managers are coming out of budgeting and now have a sense of what hiring in 2011 will look like.  There’s a bit less business travel in December, people are around to interview.  And finally, there’s something really rewarding knowing that you are going to start the new year with a full staff.

So if you are serious about landing a new job, get busy!
