While I totally agree with some of the point made, sending your resume via ‘snail mail’ made me laugh. It is true, we get a few resumes a month sent to us in hard copy form. They don’t see the light of day–we’ve joined the digital age long ago, you see, and all of our files, all of our databases are on line. A thin client, SaaS environment at that. We really don’t have the time or the interest to scan resumes into digital format.
I did get a hand written note on personal stationary from a CIO who just landed a new role thanking me for helping her over the years. That, I appreciated.
